Summer is approaching Athens Drive and that usually means one thing: country concerts. Every year Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion in Raleigh is the venue for the megaticket tour. The megaticket tour is when a person can purchase a group of tickets all together at a cheaper price than if you bought them all individually. This way, the person can buy all the tickets at once for a cheaper price than if he bought them all separate. The singers that are included this year are Luke Bryan, who will be performing twice, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban and Blake Shelton.
“It’s cool to have something to look forward to almost every week. It’s like the friday night football games of summer,” said Sarah Hume, senior.
With eleven different singers performing throughout the summer, it can make the summer go by quicker. Not only students attend these concerts either; there is a wide range of people who go from young children to older couples. The concerts are a great way to spend time with family or to meet a bunch of new people.
“I think it’s outrageously annoying how expensive the tickets are,” said Jess Roch, junior.
This year tickets are close to three hundred dollars when two years ago they were only one hundred fifty, which makes it harder for students to obtain them. They also get sold out pretty quickly; last year they were sold out within the first two weeks and this year they were sold out within the first three weeks. That is only from the megaticket website, but they can still be found on ticketmaster or any other ticket selling website. However, buying from other websites may be more expensive.
“It will be nice to be all together with the seniors having fun for our last summer before college,” said senior Walt Orebaugh.
For seniors, this is their last high school summer; it can be a time where you spend the last few months with the people that made the last four years of high school memorable, and what better way to spend those days than hanging out and listening to country music.
