Adele’s new album

Adele, released her comeback album, titled “25” Nov. 20, 2015. Her album sold approximately 3.38 million copies in the first a week in the United States. She is the first to sell three million in a single week, which makesing “25” the highest selling album in 2015. According to Billboard, the album has sold five million copies in the U.S. by the end of its third sale tracking week.

“I think it’s been a long time coming, Adele is such a great individual and her music is amazing. I can’t see any reason why people wouldn’t want more from her. I love “25” and I actually have it in my car CD port right now,” said Jillian Bridges, senior.

This is Adele’s first album to sell more than four million since her own album “21” sold 5.58 million in 2012. Tracking of her sales will end Dec. 3, and according to Billboard, some forecasters believe the album could sell another 650,000 copies by Dec. 10. In the first two weeks, according to Neilsen Music, it sold 4.49 million copies.

“Since “21” I believe Adele has progressed so much and since then matured with her new roles in her personal life and in the music industry,” Bridges said.

Adele’s “Hello,” is on top of the Billboard Hot 100 third week in a row (Nov. 28), taking over Radio Song Charts and airplay. “Hello” is the first single from her third studio album holding No. 1 and is the fourth song to earn three straight weeks in digital sales, passing 400,000. According to Billboard, “Hello” is the quickest to climb the charts in 22 years.

“I believe that Adele’s 25 has gotten so much attention and success from the anticipation that was built up between the release of her last album 21. Adele’s voice is exquisite, she sings with ease and is a naturally talented singer,” said Yen Doan, senior.

Adele describes, 25 as a “make up” album compared 21, which was a breakup album she told BBC News. Her purpose through, 25 is to make up for lost time and to move on. Lyrically, the album touches upon her fears of growing older, childhood, regrets, family, recollecting memories and her role as a mother and wife.

“25 is a great album that I believe many people can relate to. My favorite song from her album has to be When We Were Young because it reminds me of someone I love and care about, and it can be nice to know you relate to someone who experienced a past similar to yours,” said Doan.

Alongside her new album, Adele excited her many fans with an important announcement. On Nov. 26, 2015, Adele announced she will be embark on her third tour titled Adele Live 2016 from Feb. to June. Adele will begin her tour in Belfast in Feb. 2016. She will then tour Dublin, Manchester, London, Glasgow and Birmingham.
