Before the start of 2025, 6 and 7 were just two normal consecutive numbers, just like four and five. However, this changed in October 2024, when basketball edits with the audio containing 6-7 first started to appear. Soon after, March 31st marked the infamous 6-7 kid clip. After this, the world changed forever, with 6-7 taking its rightful place as the best two numbers ever to exist.

Six Seven’s fame was fast but not quite instant, with five months in between the spark and the fire. The song Doot Doot (6 7) by the rapper Skrilla first appeared in basketball edits and later became something greater than anyone could imagine.

“My favorite thing about 6-7 is definitely the edits, they are so tuff,” said Elliott Marshall, a sophomore at Athens Drive.

March 31st, 2025, marks the date when the original clip of the aptly named 6-7 kid, where he and the people around him scream “6-7” into the camera and shake their hands in a motion similar to weighing options. This clip became the backbone of 6-7 and was life-changing for many.

“6-7 has made my life exponentially better. Ever since I found out about it, I’ve been much happier. 6-7 has brought me closer to my friends and family, as well as my neighbors,” said Marshall.

6-7 has helped several people on a mental level, giving them a better piece of mind and level-headedness. Thanks to 6-7, people like Elliott Marshall have gotten closer to others and reached new heights in being happier and just in an overall better place.

“I mean, whenever I’m stressed or sad or something, I just think about 6-7, and it clears my head and makes me feel better,” said Marshall.

6-7 has presented ways to brighten your day, with Marshall telling how it helps him relax and stay happier. Though it was never intended to, 6-7 has helped many people in their day-to-day lives by simply existing.

“Man, it’s been great. Ever since I found out about it, it’s been going good, smooth sailing. It’s a really great thing to have in life. If it wasn’t for 6-7, I doubt my life would be as good as it currently is.” Said Logan Thompson, a freshman at Athens Drive.

The fame and influence of 6-7 is close to unmatched, with the concept of 6-7 sparking the creation of many other meme numbers, but very few actually succeed. There are hundreds of number combos that people try to force into being funny, with the most notable being numbers like 61, 89, and 38, with some even working out, like 41. Though 41 predated 6-7 as a meme number, its popularity roots are likely in 6-7, based on the fact that they have the same two-number format.

“I gotta go with 6-7, it’s the original and there’s nothing that can top it. 41 is nice, but 6-7 has been there since day 1,” said Marshall.

Although many people love 6-7, some dislike it due to its potentially disruptive nature. In the classroom environment, 6-7 can present itself as an obstacle in class, especially in math, where numbers are a key part of the subject. As six and seven are two consecutive numbers, they are often said back-to-back quite commonly.

“It has really just caught on this year, cause you know, it was a thing last year, but more so this year, because it’s so widespread spread but you know, by the end of this year, I doubt anyone will ever say it,” said Christopher Remaley, math teacher.

Though it may at times be a pain for teachers and other people who dislike 6-7, it’s important not to forget the joy and whimsy 6-7 brings to so many people. To some, 6-7 presents a sanctuary people can run to for safety.

“6-7 has me thinking positive thoughts, and yeah, it’s been great, makes my brain smoother. I think if you don’t like 6-7, you’re missing out. I think everyone should like 6-7, I mean, just look at the six followed by that seven, it’s so tuff,” said Thompson.

If it wasn’t for 6-7, school would probably be a miserable place where happiness gets shut out and dreams get sent away. Because 6-7 exists, people can be happy by simply hearing two numbers said consecutively, and people get brought together by it. This is why 6-7 is so amazing, not just two normal numbers, but as the greatest two numbers of all time.
