She is a freshman at Athens Drive Magnet High School and is looking forward to using her interest in writing to get involved in the school. Located near Bryson City, in the Great Smoky Mountains, the Tunnel to Nowhere cuts through the mountain side. The road that goes through the tunnel was originally supposed to go from Bryson City to Fontana, along the Fontana Lake, but was never finished due to environmental problems. The road stops at the other side of the tunnel, where a number of hiking trails can be accessed.

The first St. Patrick’s day parade was held in 1601 in the Spanish colony that is now St. Augustine, Florida.
