In the courtyard of Athens Drive lives a cage that surrounds the back of it. It has left students wondering what could be in the cage. Why was it originally put there? Who put it there? How long has it been there?
According to an anonymous source (they wish to remain anonymous but they can be referred to as Marsha Mellow), the cage serves as a hold for animals the school wants to keep hidden. From simple to exotic, there are probably many animals living their lives down there.
“They probably have like unicorns there or even extinct animals that they somehow managed to preserve, they do say the most hidden places hold amazing wonders,” said Marsha Mellow.
Apart from having exotic and different weird animals down in this mysterious hole, there have also been rumors that it might just be another hideout for the famous superhero; Batman. He could be residing there in hopes of finally defeating his long time nemesis, Joker.
“Maybe Batman came in the middle of one good day and decided to make his hideout right here in our school and the administrators closed it up because they thought it was a hazard. But hey, I mean at least Joker won’t ever think he’s hiding out in a school,” said Neil Down, a student at Athens Drive High School.
Batman at Athens Drive would be a sight to see! Students have also speculated that it could deal with something supernatural like an underground portal to heaven, like a different world. The imaginations and supernatural stories in books seem to be catching up to students’ minds.
“Or maybe something like an underground portal to a Harry Potter world to Hunger Games or something like that. Maybe someone with supernatural powers came and decided that Athens Drive’s ground would be amazing for a portal to a different, exciting world, who knows,” said Down.
Even teachers have made their own speculations about what could be in the hole or what it could be; they themselves have said maybe the hole could hold all the secrets to teachers having their own fun during their breaks rather than grading a stack of papers.
“The hole could potentially be someplace for us teachers to have our own secret fun hideout you know? We could relax, chill, have fun and for once not have to grade papers during our breaks” said Anita Bath, Abstract art teacher at Athens.
There are continuous rumors surrounding the mysterious hole in the courtyard. Students and teachers hope that maybe one day their boring-filled day can finally be filled with finding out what is in the hole. A portal to a secret world? A teacher hangout? Batman’s hideout? I guess we’ll never know!
