Self Improvement
My name is Aadriana and I’m going to talk to you about my self improvement journey. Ever since quarantine, I’ve been feeling a little down and unenergetic. I always thought this was because I missed two years of my life because we were on lockdown, but sometimes I feel like it’s something more. I just don’t have energy to do certain things, and when I do, my energy runs out quickly. I have bad eating habits as well. Sometimes I’ll eat a lot and sometimes I don’t eat anything all day. I’ve also done a lot to try and help myself, I’ve set goals for myself and standards that I mostly follow. To me, self improvement is an inner process, which focuses on changing one’s attitude toward oneself and toward the world, and on getting rid of harmful habits and building new good habits.
You can’t just wake up and decide to do things differently and actually do them differently. With my personal issues, it took a lot of time, patience and effort to get to where I am now. I’m not perfect, but I’m doing a lot better and it’s noticeable. Some ways I’ve helped myself get better are waking up early and being productive on weekdays, setting alarms on my phone to do specific things, going outside more with my siblings or my dog, I try to eat more and better (still trying at that one) and I work as much as I can to work on my people skills.
I think that with these issues, even though I have bad days, I feel like I’ve grown more as a person and I’m at a version of myself that I really like. It’s hard sometimes and all I wanna do is lay in bed but I also have to set an example for my siblings. I feel a lot better and I think that the people around me have helped as well. Surrounding yourself with people that make you wanna do more with your life is a big help, and if the people in your life aren’t making you feel good about yourself, find people who do. There are so many things that can help you so if one thing doesn’t work, try another one. Just keep trying things until you find something that you can consistently do and that you enjoy doing. Self improvement is important.
It’s important to feel good about yourself and actually enjoy life. Just doing little things for a good purpose has really brought a change into my life and of course I still sometimes feel bad but that happens to everyone. I’m not perfect but I’m trying my best and that’s what counts.
