The HardRock Stadium hosted the 2020 Super Bowl LIV February 2, 2020, in Miami Gardens, Fla. between Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs defeated the 49ers in a highly contested game. This was the first Super Bowl win for Kansas City since 1970. Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs came from behind to outscore the 49ers with 21 unanswered points in the final quarter.
Winning the coin toss, San Francisco drove the ball 62 yards allowing them to be in field goal range and to lead the Chiefs 3-0. The Chiefs answered by converting a drive to a 7-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. The first half ended tied at 10-10.

“We worked so hard. We started working on my set in November and it was just every single day,” said Lopez.
In the opening minutes of the game, Mahomes was unable to complete a passing touchdown in the opening minutes of the game. Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill caught a 44 yard pass on a third down to shift the momentum of the game. After overcoming a shaky second half start, the Chief’s offense delivered three touchdowns within the last six minutes of the game to beat the 49ers.
“We have heart. From day one, Coach pushes us to be the best people we can be, and we never give up,” said Mahomes.
Mahomes received the Super Bowl MVP for many reasons, but the main was on display during the fourth quarter of the game as he led his team to the huge comeback over the 49ers including one touchdown that he ran across the line himself.
Many people are already looking forward to next season. The NFL will be returning to Florida for Super Bowl LV next year at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay.
