One ball. Two nets. And the love of the game. Manchester United is shaping up to be a unwithering in the world of international soccer. In the past, Manchester has been a staple of the Barclays Premier league, having won past two Champions League trophies. This year’s team is looking to make a big impact on the game.
The 2016 team is especially a force to reckon with because of the addition of three major players: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. These players will be a key aspect to the starting team due to their incredible shot power and speed.
Ibrahimovic started his soccer career in 1996 playing for Malmö FF, one of the top Swedish teams at the time. He then moved onto other great teams like Ajax, Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) where he was recognized as a major threat on the field. This year he is expected to be one of the top scorers in the entire Barclays Premier league and will be making an impact on the game as a whole.
“Ibrahimovic is tall, fast, and can shoot from almost anywhere on the field, if he plays as good as he did on PSG then Manchester United is set,” said Colin Daughtry, senior.
Paul Pogba is another addition to the team, however, this is not the first time he has played for Manchester United. Pogba started his soccer career playing for Manchester before he left to play for Italian team, Juventus. This year is his return to the team which making many fans excited for the upcoming season.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan will also be a newcomer to the team. He is most known for playing for Borussia Dortmund, the second best team in the Bundesliga for the 2015-16 season. During his time there, he became one of top scorers for his team.
“When I heard Mkhitaryan was being transferred to Manchester United I knew it was nails in the coffin for every other team in the league,” said Hau Vu, senior.
Currently Manchester United is in fourth place with three wins and only one loss. They are working day and night to improve their game and bring home more wins for their next games.
